Shukshin Altai State University for Humanities and Pedagogy occupies four buildings in the cozy city of Biysk.
Biysk is called the "Gateway to the Altai Mountains". Gorny Altai (called the Republic of Altai) is the most attractive tourist destination in the mountains in summer and winter. The university has a recreation camp "Kanonerskoe lake", located 10 km from the city in a picturesque pine forest on the shore of the relict lake "Kanonerskoe". The base has 5 cottages, a student's club, a library, a cafe, a conference hall.
The are two structures of student dormitories and an Educational Technopark at the University.
In the historic part of the city there are three academic buildings, a library with a reading room, a gym, a cafeteria and research labs. They are many monuments of history and architecture of the 19-th century in the city of Biysk.
