Research areas
Shukshin Altai State University for Humanities and Pedagogy is one of the leading Russian university in Psychology and Educational Studies.
According to the National (Russian) aggregate Rating by academic areas in 2022, our university received the highest grade (A), which means that the university was included in the list of 25% of universities with the best results throughout Russia in two indicators. Firstly, the university is in the first quartile according to “H-index” in Psychology. Secondly, our university also got into the first quartile of all Russian universities according to the subject rating "The First Mission" in the field of Education and Pedagogy.
At ASUHP named after V. Shukshin, a number of researchers are working on actual topics in
Personality, Educational Psychology, Social Psychology and Motivation;
Psycholinguistics and Second Language Studies,
Electrical Engineering and Power Electronics;
Ornithological research in Altai;
Studies of the regional insect fauna;
Petrology of gold-generating magmatism;
All research results of the university scholars are being introduced into the system of school education.
Despite the fact that the university has only 100 scholars, according to Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics) Shukshin University ranks 294 out of 1042 universities in Russia (that is, it is included in the second quartile of the best universities in Russia).
Research labs
Material and technical base of the university allows scholars and students to conduct their research, carry out graduate qualification works and coursework at a high level, including:
- microscopic examination of rocks and minerals (including minerals containing rare earth elements);
- obtaining photographs and microphotographs of thin and irradiated sections to study ore minerals (tungsten, molybdenum, gold, silver ores);
- preparation of samples for specialized isotopic analysis of various elements in the central laboratories and determination of the exact chemical composition of minerals and rocks;
- computer simulation of processes in crystals using a supercomputer;
- carrying out of full-scale and simulation studies of electrical devices and systems using as an element base semiconductor controlled keys, development of structures and schematic implementation of devices, algorithms of their control, with modeling to assess the quality of electromagnetic processes at the input and output of devices;
- research of biodiversity and entomological fauna of the region;
- research in the field of psycholinguistics and cognitive psychology.
A unique audio collection and specialized workstations were created for blind and visually impaired students using a scanning and reading machine, specialized software for creating audiobooks for the blind and visually impaired, tiflo-flash players and a speech-to-text application with headsets.
In 2022, a Pedagogical Techno-park was opened at the university with modern labs for conducting pedagogical experiments.
Student Research Association
Student Research Association is organized for the purpose of activation of research activity on educational programs of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
The activity of the association contributes to:
- improving the quality of professional training of students and graduate students (personnel of higher qualification);
- motivation for professional research activity;
- activation of independence and creativity in teaching.
